Gap Year Safety Course

  • Are you travelling on a Gap Year or extended trip to a foreign location?
  • Do you want to stay safer and have a great time whilst you’re away?
  • Are you looking to learn new skills that will enhance your trip?

Yes? Then this interactive 1 day workshop is for you!

The Gap Year Experience

An extended holiday or Gap Year is a once in a lifetime chance to experience different countries, get off of the beaten track and immerse yourself in new cultures. You’ll have amazing adventures, meet new friends, develop your life skills, widen your experiences and return home with a whole bunch of unforgettable memories.

Stepping out of your Comfort Zone

It’s worth remembering that there are risks with travelling in any part of the world, especially those that you’ve never been to before. There can be extreme climates, unusual languages, different cultures and a lack of the services that you take for granted when back home, such as the availability of clean water and medical cover. Travelling is an exciting, exhilarating experience and it’s important that you are able to reduce the level of risk to an acceptable level.

Unfortunately there are an increasing number of travellers experiencing crime and injury whilst abroad, many of which could have been prevented with an increase of knowledge and local awareness.

What's covered?

This 1 day Safety Course will help to be more prepared for your time away, increasing your knowledge of essential travel tips, equipping you with new skills, reducing your chances of getting into trouble and increasing the likelihood of returning home safely with a wide range of good memories!

Who are the trainers?

The course is run the conjunction with one of the countries top training and operational consultancy firms, who are dedicated to educated survival strategies in difficult environments. Their clients range from humanitarian and international organisations, government agencies and corporate clients. Your learning won't be in better hands.

We will be running these programmes in the coming months, either at your school or a number of venues throughout the country.
